Monthly Reads: October 2021

Hello and Happy spooky Halloween!

This October has been another busy month with university and my birthday. but I got around some time and had a reading done - not a big pill read but it is still progressing towards my 2021 reading goal! without further ado, here are my reads for this month:

Fairest: Levana’s Story from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Mayer

Categories: Young Adult, Retellings, Dystopia, and Sci-Fi.

‘Pure evil has a name, hides behind a mask of deceit, and uses her “glamour” to gain power. But who is Queen Levana? Long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress in The Lunar Chronicles, Levana lived a very different story–a story that has never been told … until now.’

I have already written a post blog review 'Fairest and Baddest' on this and it honestly got 3/5 as it did not do just with the rest of the series nor did it make any sense as to an epic villain’s coming origin story.

Descendants: Mal’s Spell Book by Tina McLeef

Categories: Young Adult, Retelling, and Fantasy.

This book has got me so nostalgic that reading it - it made me feel like I was behind the scenes within the movie itself.  but 3/5 as it somehow gave less than I expected from a kids’ book.

and lastly, as I finally got to read Jujutsu Kaisen Volume One and two by Gege Akutami (as I only have these physical). and I have no complaints nor negative comments regarding this manga as I love everything in and about it! 5/5!!
